Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's Biography

Jimmy’s playing career spanned 18 seasons, scoring an incredible 245 goals, winning fans over at a wealth of different and equally successful clubs.

Jimmy broke records early on when he was signed for Atlético Madrid in 2000 for a princely £15 million, but he rewarded that investment averaging nearly a goal every two games for Atlético over the next four years.

 

Jimmy signed for Chelsea in 2000 and went on to score 69 goals in 136 appearances for the club. He famously struck up a fine partnership with Eiður Guðjohnsen helping the club reach the FA Cup Final and Champions League.  Jimmy was the first Chelsea sub to ever come on and score a hat trick.

 

As well as representing the Dutch national side on 23 occasions, Jimmy also played for Middlesbrough, Charlton, Cardiff and Leeds. As a manager Jimmy has been in charge of Royal Antwerp in Belgium, Queens Park Rangers and was part of Gareth Southgate’s staff for the England Men’s National Team for the UEFA European Championships 2024 where England reached the final.
